Since graduating from Glasgow School of Art in 1984, Paul Murray has spent his time painting, teaching and travelling. His work has been exhibited at many venues which include the Royal Glasgow Institute, the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolours (Edinburgh) and the Paisley Art Institute.

Paul has been honoured with The Paisley Art Institute Award in 2000,
the Mary Armour and the Paisley University Awards at the PAI in 2002 and 2007 respectively, awarded first prize at the Scottish Drawing Competition
in 2007 and has been successfully represented by John Green Fine Art
at the Glasgow Art Fair.

Solo shows in Marbella, Bahrain and Gourock have resulted in his work now being part of numerous private collections which include the Bahrain Royal Family.

His paintings are mostly inspired by local scenes, from the Western Ferries and the Kip Marina, to the hills and landscapes around the artist’s Gourock home. Inspiration for much of his still life compositions has been drawn from travels in Europe and the Middle East.
